Thanksgiving prep outfit

Happy early Thanksgiving! I am out at my parents farm celebrating an early Thanksgiving and tomorrow I will be with my husbands fam. This outfit was just something simple I threw on that will be easy to cook and clean with. I will be changing into a different outfit for family pictures soon but it is a little to fancy for a day of dinner prep. But you guys go check out Target if you get a chance to soon. This chunky scarf I am wearing is only $3 in the front dollar section. It is so cozy and the price is amazing!

Hope you all have safe travels if you are out today and have the happiest of Thanksgivings!

Black lace

Over the last few weeks I have been searching for a dress for an upcoming wedding my husband and I were going to be attending. With not having the best luck at finding anything I really liked, on a whim the other day I decided to stop by a second hand store that was on the way home. I am so thankful that I did! I found the perfect dress for the wedding and the price was right up my alley. The dress only cost $6! I actually love this dress so much that it might just be the dress I wear for a Christmas service my family will be attending.

Thrift tip:
I have noticed that quite a few second hand stores offer additional discounts on their clothes including stuff on sale, if you follow them on social media accounts. That is one reason I was able to get this dress for just $6. I follow the second hand store on Instagram and anytime I shop, I get 5% off my purchase. But the day I bought the dress, they were doubling that percentage so I actually got 10% off. It pays to follow!

I had to throw in a picture with my beautiful girl! She was on the grumpy side when this picture was taken. She missed a nap and was done for!

Outfit details:
Dress: thrift-$6
Shoes: thrift-$6
Tights: Target: $6
Necklace: Gift-Free

Outfit total: $18

Happy weekend!

Simple fall look

My daughter is teething right now. So that means, she is having break downs every few minutes and has to be held constantly. The plus side to the teething is that I get to have way more cuddles with her which hardly ever happens when she is not teething or sick. The downside is that showering and getting ready for the day is almost impossible. Those are the days when I try to wear the easiest and simplest outfit I can find. Preferably one that I can throw a hat on with so my unwashed messy hair can be hidden. That is what I did today when I could not get out of running a few errands.

Outfit details:

Sweater: thrift-$2.99
Pants: thrift-$3.99
Lace top: Ross-$6
Boots Steve Madden-Gift

Outfit total: $12.98

Floral for fall

Have you ever heard of LuLaRoe? They are a company that sells comfortable clothes for women and girls through the in home party/consultant avenue. So when my sister had a party a little while ago I showed my support for her and purchased this skirt that I am wearing. Here are my thoughts on the clothing.

They have many styles, very cute patterns and everything is very comfortable. I love the pattern of the skirt I am wearing. I wore it more often over the summer but it is easy enough to style for fall as well. The major downside to the company I feel is the price. This skirt cost me $28. And  normally I would NEVER buy a skirt for that price. Like I said, it was for my sister and I would do anything for her. But I feel like I could have gone to Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshalls or Old Navy even and purchased something for half the cost that is better quality. I have to be very careful how I wash this skirt because the one time I did a normal wash/dry in my machines, it started to get pills on it.

So in the future, I don't think I will be buying from this company again but I will enjoy the one skirt I have.

Both the tops I am wearing in this outfit are thrift purchases and the boots are Steve Madden, a gift for my hubby.

Have a happy Monday!

Friday Finds: baby edition

Shopping happened today for my girl because she has out grown all of her 6 to 9 month clothes and is now in 12 month. I may have cried a little when I tried to get a pair of 9 month pants to fit her and they would not button. Can I just freeze time?! It feels like I blinked and she went from being a newborn to 8 months old! You guys, my baby is wearing 12 month clothing already!! It is not that she is the only 8 month old out there in that size, but the fact that she is growing so fast. It makes me a big, old ball of emotions thinking about it!

I went to a kids thrift/consignment store because their stuff is always good quality, no stains, good brands and cheap. All of the clothes I got for her are either Target brands, Gymboree, or Old Navy. Plus I did not spend over $4 on any single item.

Target: $3.99

Old Navy: $2.75

Target: $1.75

Old Navy: $2.75

Old Navy: $2.75

Target: $1.75

Target: $1.75

Target: $2.50

Gymboree: $2.75

Old Navy: $2.75

Have you found any recent thrift or consignment finds lately? I would love to hear about them!

Have a fab Friday!

My happy ever after

I was looking through all of my photos today and realized that I never posted any of my family pictures that we had done months ago. Can anyone say mom brain?! So since today is throw back Thursday, I will post them now instead. Liberty was almost 5 months in these photos and was not happy during the time they were taken. We are very close to getting two more family picture sessions done so I am crossing my fingers she will do better!

Hope you had a great Thursday!

50's flare

You know summer is gone and fall is here when you put on a dress, take pictures and your legs are WHITE. And not just a little white, a lot white!! So needless to say, buying tights will be in my future if I am ever going to wear a knee length dress again!

This dress was given to me by my sister and I knew that I wanted to pair it with my red heels I found thrifting. I love that the dress has a 50's flare to it and all the lace detail. Because of the cooler temps and the fact that I did not have a sweater that I wanted to pair with this outfit, I went with putting a button up under the dress instead. It is an easy way to add a little something else to an outfit and also stay on the warmer side.

Outfit details:

Dress: Free
Shoes: Thrift-Merona $6.99
Button up top: Target clearance-$4.98
Belt: Walmart-$2.99(for a pack of two)

Outfit total: $13.47

Have a happy hump day!

Baby thrift

I have been meaning to post some of my thrift stores finds for my baby girl for a little while but have not gotten around to it till now. I love shopping for my girl even more then I like shopping for myself. I have to avoid the baby section in most store because everything is just so flipping cute and I will buy her another item if I don't! To avoid the after purchase guilt when buying full price, I have been trying to get more of her stuff at second hand and thrift stores. My money goes farther and I don't feel quite as bad if she only wears it one time before growing out of it. These are the most recent thrift finds I have gotten for her. She won't stop growing like a weed so I am going to have to get some more things within the next few weeks.

Children's Place jean jacket: $1.99

Old Navy leopard dress: $.99

Pink Converse: $3.00

Calvin Klein vest: $.99

I got all of these from a local kids thrift store I found by where I live. It is one of the best I have been to for kids. My sister even got a Petunia Picklebottom in mint condition there last week for $25!!

Happy hump day!
