Recent thrift finds

Here is a roundup of some recent thrift store finds I purchased over the last few weeks. I found the jumpsuit when I was taking my sister in-law thrift store shopping a couple of weeks ago. I am kind of excited about it too! My mom and sister think I am straight up crazy for buying a jumpsuit but I figure, why not try it? If I hate it I can always sell or give it away. I am not sure how I will be styling the jumpsuit, but it still had tags from the store so for being brand new, I could not pass it up. I scored it for $8.97 which was pretty good considering it was new.

I am dying over this Loft dress. The yellow piping makes the dress. I got it for $7.00

The leopard pumps were just $6.00.

I love these heels! Perfect for the summer. They were just $6.99.

Have any of you found good thrift deals lately? I would love to hear about them!

Thanks for reading!!

Midi maxi look

Happy hump day! I can't believe it is Wednesday already. Having memorial day off has thrown my week out of whack a little bit. I wore this outfit over the weekend to my parents farm for some time with the fam. This outfit has a little bit of a patriotic nod to it. I wish I could say I was brilliant and planned that for memorial day but it was unconsciously done. But hey almost the entire outfit was purchased at a thrift stores! So that's something right?! The dress, jacket, scarf and wedges were all thrifted. I found the midi maxi at the Goodwill for only $3.99. I did not realize that it was not a full length maxi until I got home but I have to say that I really love the length! It is not something that I would normally choose out but I am glad I found it. It is very comfy!

Outfit Details:
Dress: Thrift: $3.99
Jacket: Thrift: $4.00
Scarf: Thrift: $2.00
Wedges: Thrift: $2.50
Hat: Walmart

Have a great Wednesday all!

Brag about Monday

Who better to brag on, then the amazing people who are serving and have served our country. I don't thank  our veterans and active duty service members enough for all they have done/do for our country. I am so blessed to live in country where these American hero's choose to lay down their lives to protect mine. Memorial day is a time to remember all who have gone before us and all who are currently serving. Never forget and always honor them.

Happy memorial day!!

New look

As you probably noticed, I have changed the look and design of the blog. I am so excited about how it has turned out too!! While I liked what I had before, I wanted to change the overall look to reflect more of my personality as well as be more professional. As I am fully making the conversion over to the new look, I ask you to please bear with me. I am trying to correct any glitches that may have popped up during the transition. Mainly the photo's turned a little grainy when I made the switch but hopefully that will be completely fixed this weekend. Crossing my fingers anyways because I am by no means a computer savvy person! Thankfully I know people who are so that helps.
So thank you in advance for your patience with all the changes! I seriously appreciate it!

What do you think of the new look?

Feature Friday

Hello there lovelies! I am super excited to start something new on the blog today! Let me tell you about it. One of the main things I get told when people find out I have a fashion blog dedicated mostly to thrift store clothes and finding fashion on a budget is "Oh your small so of course you can find stuff. I can never find things that work for me in my size." I hear that all the time and really I find it sad because I think women and men no matter their size should feel beautiful/handsome in what they are wearing. And I think it can be done on a budget regardless of their size! I want to show people that anyone, tall, short, petite, bigger framed, male or female can shop second hand and still look fabulous. So once a month I am going to be featuring someone of every shape and size on the blog. And the best part?! Their entire outfit will be purchased at either a second hand or thrift store! I will give you a price break down on what each item they are wearing costs, so you can see how much a person can save just by switching up where they shop, even just once in a while. Most of all I hope this helps break down some of the myths of thrift store shopping.
First up to be featured is my beautiful sister Liz. Her outfit was purchased from Goodwill and another little second hand store that I am obsessed with called Beau Monde Exchange. Now my sister does not wear a size small due to how tall she is but we still managed to find her an adorable outfit for cheap!

Her entire outfit was under $20.00!!! Adorable right?!! Her shirt, I am in love with. The sailboats are too cute! The flats where brand new with the tags on them still for only $2.97. You cannot beat that! Also seeing these skinny's on her, makes me want some coral ones too. She is just too cute!

I am super excited to continue with this feature Friday series monthly(although I might need some grace with the every month thing for this. I will try my hardest to get one up every month though!!) I hope you will check back too see who is up next!
It's FRIDAY people! I am so ready for my three day weekend.
Have an awesome day!

Thursday's Thrifting tip

Today you get a double whammy, a thrift store shopping tip and an outfit post! YAY! Anywho....I wanted to share with you today something that really helped me when I started to thrift store shop on a consistent basis. I always wanted to know where more thrift stores where but didn't want to have to drive around all day to find them. That's when I had a "no duh-light bulb went off over my head" moment. And what was my brilliant thought? Use yelp. Yep, it was really that simple but let me tell you it has helped me tons! I have found so many second hand and consignment stores I had never heard of until I started using that app. While I pretty much know the stores I like in my city now, I use it when I am traveling so I don't miss out on finding good thrift stores in other cities. Yelp for those of you who don't know, is an online review and local business locator. You can put in any location and search any type of business. It will show you where they are and any reviews left by consumers. Pretty cool right?! So if you are a newbie thrifter or a thrifter that doesn't get to go often, I think yelp might be a good tool to utilize when looking for new places to try out!

So, do you remember the crazy pattern skirt I thirfted recently? Well, I thought I would make it even more crazy by adding another print with it! What can I say?! I love to mix patterns and try new stuff. I had fun with it!

Outfit Details:
Skirt: Thrift $2.00
Top: Gift
Shoes: Thrift

P.S...Make sure to check back tomorrow, I am starting something new on the blog and I am pretty excited about it!!

Have a fabulous Thursday everyone!

I really need to get a pair of white cons. These are my sisters and I borrow them all the time. White cons are classic and can go with so much! The jeans were thrifted and both the tops I have had for a while now.

These are my sweet nieces. I love these little ladies so much!

Outfit Details:
Button Up: TJ Maxx
T-shirt: Forever 21
Jeans: Thrifted

Have a beautiful Tuesday everyone! I for one am loving this amazing weather we are having in the Inland Northwest. It has been perfect!

Brag about Monday

Sorry for the late post guys! To say my Monday was insane would be an under statement. Monday's always seem to go that way right? Well anyhow today I would like to give a shout out to my sister in law Caitlin. I took her thrift store shopping the other day for the first time and it was a ton of fun! You will get to see some of her finds soon on the blog. This beautiful lady is so full of fun and happiness. She is laid back and goes with the flow, which is a good thing in my intense and crazy family! She is truly one of the sweetest people I know. I am so thankful that my brother married her! He did good people! She compliments him in so many ways. Love you girl and I am so thankful you are in the family!

Hope you all had a fantastic Monday!

Today I am off to my little nieces birthday party but I wanted to leave you with an outfit I wore the other day. We have been having the most gorgeous weather recently so I have been living in skirts, dresses and shorts all week. This leopard skirt was given to me from my sister. She had a closet clean out, overhaul and gave me a ton of stuff! And who am I to say no to free stuff, especially clothes?!

Outfit Details:
Skirt: Sister gave it to me
Peplum top: Gift from my sister in law (I think she got it at either TJ Maxx or Marshall's)
Shoes: TJ Maxx from last year

Enjoy your Saturday!

Thursday's thrifting tip

7 years ago I had the opportunity to go on one of the most life changing and incredible trips I have ever been on. Even though I was young it still impacted my life in a big way. I got the chance to go on a trip to the Philippines to help out in a orphanage and bible school my parents church helped start. It was a wild and experience filled trip that helped shape me into who I am today. Now you are probably thinking "what in the world does this have to do with anything"? Well that's what I am here to tell you!
I had so many experiences in the Philippines but one of the most fascinating was when myself and the group I was with got to do some shopping at a local market in one of the mountain villages. It was there where I first learned what haggling for an item really entailed! Villagers would go back and forth about the price on an item loudly, always trying to get the price lower and lower. That experience has always left an impression on me. I figured why not try that right where I live? I know it is almost unheard of because frankly people just think your rude. But the world of thrift store shops and second hand is way different then the department store experience.
Haggle. Ask for a discount. If  you think an items is over priced ask them to discount it. I think you will be surprised by what they can do for you! Never, ever be afraid to ask for a discount. Thrift stores are not like department stores, they set the prices on everything and they can change them for you. Good things come to those who ask!
Haggling(in a respectful way, not loudly and in their face mind you) may not come easy for you but it can be fun once you get used to it!

Hope you all have a fabulous Thursday!

Maxi love

Who doesn't love maxi's?! If you don't, you might just be crazy because seriously they are amazing and oh so comfy. If I could wear them everyday, all day I would! But alas I do have to look somewhat professional when heading into the office. Bummer, I know.
This is the maxi I found thrifting a while back. I have been dying to pull it out and when we finally had decent enough weather, it was my outfit of choice. Both the maxi and the jean jacket were thrifted. I got them at the Goodwill a while ago.

Outfit Details:
Jacket: Thrift
Dress: Thrift
Cons: Sisters
Necklace: Rue 21

Hope you all have a fabulous Wednesday! I am pretty excited, I get to see one of  my older brothers tonight. I have not seen him in 4 years, so I can't wait!

Thanks for reading!
