Favorite combo

One of my favorite color combos to wear is blue and yellow. Some colors work perfect together. Yellow and blue are a few of those colors. And when something works, why change it, right?! The colors plus how light weight it is, makes the sweater perfect for the chilly spring weather we are having. I am glad I found this sweater while thrifting recently because I know it will be one I wear many times, especially come fall.
I decided to do subtle pattern mixing with this outfit by pairing stripes, checker and leopard prints together.

Brag about Monday

So there is this couple I know. They are completely amazing. They are generous, compassionate, and one of the most selfless couples I know! This particular couple is someone you want in your life because they will build you up, support and even correct you in a loving way if needed. They are the first people to be at your side if you need them in any situation! They carry joy and love with them wherever they go. One of the biggest things I admire about this couple is that they take in, love on and support anyone who is in need! I have seen them act as mom and dad to people who have lost parents. They pour out their love on anyone who feels unloved or unwanted. I am sure they have tons of "adoptive" kids besides their own that they have loved and supported over the years. I could go on and on because simple stated, I have not met another couple like them. And I have the honor and privilege to call them my Father and Mother In-law. I can't tell you how lucky I am to be apart of their family!

Oh and their sense of humor is awesome! Never a dull moment!

Love you Toby and Patty!

Hope you all have a great Monday!

Flower power

As I am sure most of you know or are aware of, floral pants have been a big trend over the last few years. Last year I found these pants at the Goodwill for only $4.00 so I decided to try them out. Honestly I think that after I got them I wore them only about one time. I guess I was not positive about them. But just the other day I pulled them out and found that I actually love them! Do you have any clothes that you do that with? Keep the clothes in your closet because in the back of your head you think that you might just wear them sometime. So you don't get rid of them and they end up sitting there for months or if your like me, maybe years. Not going to lie, I do have some clothes that have been in my closet that long. I need to break that cycle with a few things I own! These pants are going to be an exception though. I plan on wearing them a lot this summer so I'm keeping them. I think what I love the most about them, is that they are boyfriend style pants.
A little loose and extremely comfy!
Oh and these pics...I'm sorry. I took these really late at night after a full day of running around doing errands and all sorts of stuff. I was beat and you can tell haha.

Thursday's thrifting tip: Jean Jackets

Jean jackets are what's up today. They are timeless and classic pieces that can add just a little something to an outfit. I wear the heck out of mine and consider it a staple in my wardrobe. So for today's thrifting tip I am going to let you in on a little secret. You can always and I mean always, find jean jackets at thrift stores! I don't think there has been a time that I have been to a thrift store where I have not found at least one jean jacket(ahhh hummm.....knock on wood!). For the most part, the thrift stores I go too usually have all the denim/jean jackets in one place. Some will have them just in with the rest of the jackets but I personally like when the stores separate it out. Purely for selfish reasons, I must admit. It makes my life a heck of a lot easier to have them in one place! :) Also check the men's sections if you don't find one in the ladies section. Yep, that's right! I have found jean jackets that are men's extra small, small or medium that you would never be able to tell where men's in the first place. Just make sure the fit is good and no one will be the wiser I promise.
The jean jacket I own was purchased at Goodwill for under $5 and it is GAP brand. Now GAP denim jackets usually run in the $30ish price range and while some might not think that's too much too pay, I can't even fathom having to pay that when I know you can almost always get one for under $5 at a thrift store. Here are a few of the ways I styled my jean jacket this year and also a few ways I found on Pinterest to style them that I love.

I wore it over a simple tee, with camo pants and flats for a easy weekend look.

If you want an uber casual look, button up the jacket and throw on a over sized scarf.

Denim on denim is always a classic way to wear a jean jacket.

These looks I found on Pinterest are perfect for spring!

So now if you don't have a jean jacket and are feeling the need to get one, check out a local thrift store first!

P.S...I am now up on Bloglovin! If you have a moment and would like to follow me through there, it is super easy to do. And if you know anyone who would be interested in following along too, please share! I'd appreciate it :)

Hope you all have a fabulous Thursday!!

Easter outfit

Growing up, Easter Sunday's have always been big in my Family. I can remember me and my sisters getting so excited to choose out Easter dresses. Of course they always had to be complete with hats and gloves. It was almost like Christmas morning to us, when we finally got to wear the dresses! I think I have unconsciously carried that tradition into my adult life. I tend to dress up a little more then usual on Easter Sunday and this year was no exception, although I was not sure what I was wearing until the night before. I don't get many opportunities to wear this tulle skirt so I decided Easter Sunday was the perfect day to pull it out. My sister made this skirt for me by the way. Yes, you heard that right. She is talented people! Also these shoes. I. Am. Obsessed. Period. My husband got them for me recently. He is such a sweet guy!
And as I said, there is a story about the cons. My dad every year does an Easter egg hunt for the adults. Instead of candy in the eggs though they have money in them. It has become a big tradition in the family and let me tell you, it gets competitive! I mean who wouldn't want to hunt for eggs with money in them?! The Easter egg hunt happens out in the woods and my dad hides them well. You have to dig under things, look through brush, under logs and in trees. Logically wearing jean and tennis shoes would be a smart thing to do. Of course, I just happened to forget my jeans this year! I did not let that stop me though. I strapped on my cons and took for the woods. Poofy skirt and all!

I had to throw in a picture of my sweet man. I can't tell you how much I love this guy!!

Brag about Monday

This weekend went past in a blur of activity, from eye doctor appointments, worship practice for church and Easter Sunday craziness! I feel like I need a weekend to recover from the weekend. Even though it felt like it was over before I blinked, I had the best of times! So today you get a little glimpse into the fun I had with mine and my husbands family. And tomorrow I will do an outfit post featuring what I wore for Easter Sunday.

Nieces, brothers, sisters, egg hunting and my dad opening a belated birthday gift from my niece.

My big bro helping my littlest bro hunt eggs

My sister's boyfriend looking very intense(Haha) while the kiddos hunt eggs in the back.

The mom's taking pictures of their kids hunting eggs

Dad, sister and brother in law out starting to hide eggs

My husband, brother in law, father in law, and some their friends playing baseball with a toddlers plastic bat and ball. Crazy boys!

Some of the siblings, nieces and nephews right before the egg hunt began. They were just a little bit excited!

My littlest brother found a HUGE egg! Had to get a picture with him because he was so, so excited! And yes there is a story behind the cons with that outfit. That's coming tomorrow!

Easter Dinner! And that is not even close to half of my family!

The after math of dinner....

And finally the kiddos getting their Easter baskets.

Don't you just love spending time with family? I do!

Hope you all had a fantastic Easter and a great Monday!
