Brag about Monday

I have been MIA for the last few days and for that I am sorry. Life was getting a little hectic on me and I needed a weekend to try to slow it down. Today I have to brag about all my beautiful nieces. These little ladies have captured my heart from the moment each one was born. I love them like my own and miss all the ones who live too far away to love on daily! I also have two more who are not pictured here because I do not have good pics with them, due to not seeing them in a couple years. That is the sad part of having family all over the country! You don't get to see them as much as you would like sometimes. Anyhow, I think I have the most adorable group of nieces out there! Yes, I am biased but who isn't when it comes to their nieces and nephews?

Hope you all are having a great start to your week!

Patriotic feel

TGIF! I am feeling very patriotic in this outfit, although that was not my intention when I put it on. It was actually one of those "oh crap I don't know what to wear and I am late" moments when I threw this together. And sometimes on days like that you end up liking your outfit way more then when you plan it out. At least there times that it happens that way for me! Everything, except the pants and the necklace were purchased at a thrift store in this get-up. Do you ever have an item of clothes or shoes that you love but just don't wear as much as you should? These Mary Jane pumps are that item for me! I need to wear them a lot more then I do now because I truly do love them.

Outfit details:
Mary Jane Pumps: Thrift(Goodwill)-$2.00
Chambray Shirt: Thrift(Value Village)-$1.50
Sweater: Thrift(Beau Monde Exchange)
Pants: H&M(purchased last year)

Have a fabulous Friday!!

Thursdays Thrifting Tip

When are the best days to shop at a thrift store, is a question I get asked all the time. So today I am going to tell you. First of all, you will not find the best items on the weekend. Thrift stores tend to be very busy on weekends, just like most department stores. Everything is picked over usually, unless you go right when they open. But if you are like me in anyway, I don't want to be up at the crack of dawn on my day off. Needless to say, a 8:00 am thrift shopping spree is not in my future! So if you want to get the best deals, go on the week days. Typically I have found that Tuesday evenings are when many thrift stores restock with new items. I would say that Tuesday or Wednesday tend to be the times where I find the best deals. As always every store is different depending on the location, so when in doubt just ask the store associates! They should be able to give some of the best insight on when to shop.

Also I have to show you some of my awesome thrift finds I got recently. You may have already seen the outfit post I did with the tulle skirt but I found two other pieces that will be perfect for spring. I found a bright and mold maxi for just $5. The pencil skirt was $5 as well and the tulle skirt was $7.

Hope you are having a great Thursday!

Falling in love with tulle

I was browsing the racks at a thrift store over the weekend when I spotted this tulle skirt. The moment I saw it I knew it was coming home with me! It was brand new and still had its tags on it from another store. I have one tulle skirt already that my sister made me but the skirt is extremely full so it's hard to wear all the time. This skirt was more subtle and I was instantly in love with it! $7.00 was the grand price I paid for this skirt. I am still surprised no one else grabbed it before I did!

I love how fun and girly it is! One of my favorite skirts now and yes I am sure you will seeing more of it going into summer.

Outfit details:
Skirt: Thrift-$7.00
Top: TJ Maxx from a while ago
Shoes: Purchased from a friend(I believe she got them at TJ Maxx)
Necklace: Rue 21

Hope you have a great Tuesday!

Brag about Monday

Happy Monday everyone! Today I want to brag a little on my straight up awesome church fam! First let me give you a little background on myself, so that I can better explain why I am so thankful to be apart of such an amazing group of people. I grew up going to a truly great church that my parents had been apart of for as long as I can remember. In fact my parents are still apart of that church today. Everyone there is wonderful and I would not be who I am today with out their love and support but mostly the church was comprised of people who were a lot older then myself. So when my family decided to move further out of town, I had the chance to get involved with a youth/college group with people more my age. At the time of moving I thought I was going to die because my parents were moving us SO far away from town! I was a little melodramatic, to say the least. At the time I did not realize how the move would affect the rest of my life. Like I said I got involved with a youth/college group and I ended up meeting this family that would forever be a part of my life. The name of that family was the Mitchell's. Fast forward a few years and this family became by own when I married their son. My father in-law was the youth/college pastor at the time I first moved and he recently started his own church called Access Church Spokane. So after all that rambling(sorry guys!) I have to brag on the people of Access Church. Everyone I go to church with are unbelievable people! I'm sure everyone probably always says that, but I seriously mean it. I don't think I have met a more loving or accepting group of people. The hearts of everyone is to always love on and help others to the best of their ability! The most awesome part of all, is that there are people from every walk in life attending Access. And there is no judgement. People accepting you as you are, the good, the bad and the ugly. They treat you the same regardless of where you are at in your life or what you came from. The people I have the privilege to go to church with, demonstrate love, not just talk about it. And that's what its all about. I am honored to know them and be apart of their life in a small way because they have affected me in a huge way!

If you have someone or a group of people you want to brag on, please leave a comment. I would love to hear about them!

Thanks for reading and enjoy your day!

Peplum

On this glorious and sunny Saturday I am off to go shopping with my sister and nieces. I could not have asked for a better start to my weekend! I wanted to leave you with an outfit I wore on a double date night with some friends of my mine recently. I love peplum tops and they can be flattering for many body shapes.  I decided to style mine over a button up shirt because it was still a little cold out, but I can't wait for warmer temps so I can wear it by it's self! There is just something about a peplum top that makes you feel feminine and girly when wearing it.

Outfit details:
Peplum Top: Gift from my sister in-law-I think it was purchased at Marshall's
Button up shirt: Again gift from my sister in-law
Pants: Michelle Nassaney
Shoes: T.J Maxx from a while ago

Enjoy your Saturday!

Thursday's thrifting tip

Lists are my best friend. I make and use them every single day. If you could ask my employees at work, they would tell you I am the queen of writing lists for everything that needs to be done. If I didn't do this my head might explode with everything I would have to remember in my often hectic days! And that would not be pretty, just sayin is all! It is no different when it comes to thrift store shopping for me. I make a wants and needs list for items I would like to get in the near future if I am able to find them. I have found that when I do this it keeps me from completely spending hours in a single thrift store. (P.S. that can happen often for me!) Now, I know not everyone is a list person like myself. So if that doesn't work for you, do whatever does work for you!

Have a happy Thursday!

Spring brights

Thank God it is Wednesday! It has been a week so far, let me tell you! I have been dying for spring weather, so when the sun decided to peek it's head through the clouds for a brief moment of time last evening, I had to bare the legs and throw on some bright clothes, even if for just a tinny amount of time! I had another agenda with this outfit as well though besides the fact that I was going through spring color withdrawals. I wanted to bring to you an outfit that was completely thrifted. Everything I am wearing in this spring outfit was purchased at a thrift store. The Kate Spade wallet was not though. That was a gift from the hubby and technically I am not "wearing" it so it should not count, right? We will go with that anyways!

Outfit details:
Dress: Thrift-$3.00
Scarf: Thrift-$1.50
Shoes: Thrift-$2.99
Bracelets: Thrift-$1.00

What kind of Spring brights are you sporting right now?

Brag about Monday

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Hope you had a great weekend, I know that I did! As I mentioned before I was going to be MIA over the weekend due to being out of town. Well today I would like to brag a little on my awesome friends Rachel and Zach. They recently moved to Seattle WA and we got the chance to visit them over the weekend.  I could go on and on about both of these lovely people. They are some of the best friends my husband and I could have ever asked for! They are the type of friends you call when you are going through something because they will be the first people to love on and support you. Rachel is pretty much my sister from another mother! We are so similar in the things we like, hobbies ect that it is scary at times. Zach and Rachel are also parents to one of the cutest little boys ever, with another little one on the way. I was just a little excited to cuddle the little man all weekend :)

And for an added bonus because I didn't get to post any outfits over the weekend, I am going to post one today. This is something I out together over the weekend. I was trying out the baseball cap trend that's been happening recently. I have to say I like it! It's nice to not have to worry about completely doing your hair. I do think I will like it even more though when my hair is a tad bit longer but for now it works.

This is my adopted nephew Judah, that I got to spend the weekend with. Isn't he adorable??

Outfit details:
Jacket: H&M
Shirt: Thrift-$1.50
Pants: Michelle Nassaney
Hat: Ummm....Walmart for just $2.88!! Crazy I know. I didn't want to spend a ton on a hat if I didn't like how it would look on me, so that price worked for me.
Necklace: Rue 21

Thursday's thrifting tip

It's all about shoes baby. You need the right type of shoe when you go thrift store shopping! That's from personal experience by the way. When I first started thrifting I would often go after work, and I wear heels more times then not at work. I quickly found out that thrifting in heels was not one of my brightest ideas ever. My feet may have looked fab but they hated me later on, if the blisters were any indication! You spend more time in a thrift store on average then in a department store because you have to really look through all the racks of clothes. So strap, slip or tie on your favorite pair of flats when you head out for your next or first thrift haul!

Now for my last jean top outfit I went for a relaxed look. Chambray top, classic colored pant, statement necklace and I am rocking my DIY Kate Spade shoes I made recently. I love them so much! Surprisingly comfy for being Walmart shoes!

(Ummmm....My hair...Struggling. That's all. )

Outfit details:
Chambray shirt: Thrift-$1.50
Pants: Last year Old Navy clearance
Necklace: Forever 21
Shoes-DYI

I hope your Thursday is awesome! It's my Friday today and I am just a little bit excited because tomorrow I am heading out to Seattle for the weekend! My hubby and I are going to visit some friends who recently moved there. Hopefully I can sneak in some thrift store shopping while I'm there because Seattle thrift stores are the bomb.com! Needless to say I will be MIA Friday and maybe through the weekend. I'll try to get some posts up but no promises. I will try to make sure my weekend outfits are posted on instagram at least, so check it out if you haven't already.

Thanks for reading!
