Throw back Thursday

I have a little throw back Thursday outfit for you today. I wore this on fathers day but never got around to posting it. It was a cold and windy day but my crazy family decided to have a picnic outside. I opted for a light weight jacket and skinny's. My hair in these pics is a little crazy, partly due to the wind but also partly because I have natural curl to my hair. Sometimes I would rather not fight with my hair and just pin it back! Anyone else have problems like that or is it just me?

I had to throw a picture in of my dad. Love him so much!!

Outfit details:
Jacket: H&M
Top: Thrift
Skinny's: Kohl's
Pumps: Thrift

Thursday's Thrifting Tip:
When thrift store shopping, make sure you check all sections of the store if you can. Since inventory is always changing you never know what treasures you might find if you go past the clothing aisles!

Hope you all had a happy Thursday!

Simple is better

Simple is just better sometimes. I love to dress up as much as the next person but there are days where I am not honestly in the mood to throw on more then a simple dress, a pair of heels and call it good. This dress I found at Goodwill last year is the perfect piece for me to do just that. It is simple enough to dress up but easy to dress down for a casual day. Those are my favorite type of pieces to buy because you can always grab them on days you can not find anything to wear in your closet and you know you will still look put together.

I wore this outfit to work but you could add a pair of sandals or converse to dress it down during the day. Or for an evening look just throw on a blazer, grab a clutch and call it good.

Outfit Details:
Dress: Thrift-$3.00-Target Merona Brand
Shoes: Thrift-$6.00

Thursday's Thrifting Tip:
Always thrift all your basic wardrobe staples. Simple tees, dresses, sweaters and pants you can always find in thrift stores at almost any given time. So this fall try betting your basics at your local thrift/second hand store and see how much you can save!

P.S.....My Seattle thrift store shopping was a bust :( Mostly because I was on a tight schedule and so I was only able to go to one store. But I did get to do a little exploring with the hubby early one morning and had fun touring a ship in the Seattle harbor! Confession time......I am a major history buff so touring this ship made me feel like a kid in a candy shop!

Happy Thursday!

Fall trends

My favorite season is fall. And it doesn't get any more beautiful then when fall comes to the Northwest! Oranges, reds and yellows are painted across the sky, the cool crisp air, pumpkin spice lattes, orchard apple picking...Need I say more? I also love the fashion that comes when the seasons change. I have compiled a few of my favorite fall trends and I am going to be scouring my local thrift stores over the next few weeks to find similar items. I also get to go to Seattle this weekend and I bet you can guess where this girl is going. Seattle thrift stores baby! I am just a little bit excited if you can't tell!

First up, big, plaid scarfs. Who doesn't love scarfs?? This fall trend has rolled over from last season but it looks like it will be around to stay for a while. I for one am happy to see it stick around.

Loose and comfy shirts are looking to be another item that will be around this fall. Just pair them with skinny jeans, booties, boots or flats and your set to go for an effortless, chic look.

Next up, boho hats. At first I was not too sure about the whole big hat trend that has been happening but the more I see of them, the more I am coming to love the look. If I can snag one for a deal, this will be a trend I am trying out this fall.

Booties and blazers are last up for fall trends. Blazers and booties are pieces that I think everyone should own at least one pair of. They pull together a look and best of all, you can almost always find both items at thrift stores at any given time.

Hopefully soon I will have a fall trends thrift store haul post for you! What are your favorite fall trends?

Happy Hump day everyone!!

Well, hello there

Well, hello there my lovely readers! I am finally back to this whole blogging thing. Well the truth is, I do love to blog and share my thrift store finds, so I am excited to get back! Remember when I told you about my job promotion that happened the beginning of June? Well, that job promotion was what made me stop blogging for a little while. I was working so many hours to get caught up that I had little time to do anything but work, eat and sleep. But things have calmed down on that front and I am glad to finally be back into a steady routine!

Soooooooo, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been patient with the scarce posts! I appreciate the support even with my slacking off! :) I hope you stay tuned in the future, because I for one am excited to see where this all goes.

Have a happy Tuesday! And thanks again for reading.

Jumpsuit

Happy Saturday everyone! I am leaving it short and simple today because I am off to hang out with my two adorable nieces. I have been wanting to try out the jumpsuit trend that has been happening recently and so when I spotted this one at Goodwill I knew it was coming home with me. Jumpsuits are an easy, breezy way to look polished and put together without having to put a ton of thought into your outfit.

I decided to keep it more casual with this outfit but I can't wait to dress this jumpsuit up for a night out.

Outfit details:
Jumpsuit: Thrift-Goodwill-$8.99
Sandals: TJ Maxx

Hope you all enjoy your Saturday, whatever you may be doing!

1 shirt 3 ways

Well so much for the consistent posts starting up again. Sorry for that! I am crossing my fingers that I will be a little less busy going forward. But seriously thanks for all the understanding on the sparse posts!
Recently I have been trying to wear some of my clothes on a more consistent basis. I have to confess that I have clothes that I will wear one time but then they will sit in my closet for months, without seeing the light of day again. It is horrible, I know!! So I have been trying to get more creative with how I wear certain items so I don't feel like I am on constant repeat with my outfits. Today I am showing you three ways that I wore one of my favorite tops.

Outfit details:
Top: Walmart
Jeans: Thrift-$10.00

Pants: Thrift-$3.00

Green + dots

I am so sorry I have been MIA over the last week! I got promoted at work and that came with an extra work load that has kept me pretty busy. Honestly, by the time I got home each night I could barley scrounge dinner for the hubs before my head hit the pillow. If you have ever had a headache from information overload then you will understand how I was feeling. But things are starting to get into somewhat of a routine, so I am back to giving you regular posts.

This outfit I wore a few weeks ago but forgot to post it. Both the top and the skirt were thrifted but the top was purchased over a year ago when peplums were just beginning to become a thing. I love the material! If you can't tell by now from my other posts, I love soft and comfy materials. Comfy but still stylish is always the way to go in my book!

Outfit details:
Skirt: Thrift
Top: Thrift $1.99
Shoes: T.J Maxx

Hope you all have had a fabulous Tuesday!!

Brag about Monday

This is late, barely making the cut for brag about Monday but holy cow, I can't believe my brother in law is graduating this week!! Time has flown by, like it always seems to do. You blink and years have gone by! So today I have to brag on my brother in law a little bit. I have not met anyone his age that has as much integrity and honesty as he does. I am not just saying that because I am family either. He is one of those people who always thinks of others before himself, and is always willing to lend a hand. I love that he is goofy and full of fun, especially when he is with my husband(his brother). It makes my heart happy to see their relationship grow daily. It also blesses me to no end when I see him with our niece and nephew. He loves on and plays with them like they were his own. I see the heart of Jesus in him by his actions and the way he treats those kiddos. Needless to say, I am pretty proud of him! I am lucky to call him my brother in law!!

Hope you all had a happy Monday!

Recent thrift finds

Here is a roundup of some recent thrift store finds I purchased over the last few weeks. I found the jumpsuit when I was taking my sister in-law thrift store shopping a couple of weeks ago. I am kind of excited about it too! My mom and sister think I am straight up crazy for buying a jumpsuit but I figure, why not try it? If I hate it I can always sell or give it away. I am not sure how I will be styling the jumpsuit, but it still had tags from the store so for being brand new, I could not pass it up. I scored it for $8.97 which was pretty good considering it was new.

I am dying over this Loft dress. The yellow piping makes the dress. I got it for $7.00

The leopard pumps were just $6.00.

I love these heels! Perfect for the summer. They were just $6.99.

Have any of you found good thrift deals lately? I would love to hear about them!

Thanks for reading!!

Midi maxi look

Happy hump day! I can't believe it is Wednesday already. Having memorial day off has thrown my week out of whack a little bit. I wore this outfit over the weekend to my parents farm for some time with the fam. This outfit has a little bit of a patriotic nod to it. I wish I could say I was brilliant and planned that for memorial day but it was unconsciously done. But hey almost the entire outfit was purchased at a thrift stores! So that's something right?! The dress, jacket, scarf and wedges were all thrifted. I found the midi maxi at the Goodwill for only $3.99. I did not realize that it was not a full length maxi until I got home but I have to say that I really love the length! It is not something that I would normally choose out but I am glad I found it. It is very comfy!

Outfit Details:
Dress: Thrift: $3.99
Jacket: Thrift: $4.00
Scarf: Thrift: $2.00
Wedges: Thrift: $2.50
Hat: Walmart

Have a great Wednesday all!

Thanks for reading!
