Color block

Hi there! Life has been a little hectic for me as of recent. My daughter was sick with the stomach flue for 8 days straight and then in the mist of all of that, she hurt her leg at the park. We thought it was just a sprain but found out yesterday that she actually fractured her leg. Having a normally very active little 11 month old go from moving all over the place to barely able to stand has been a little challenging.
With all of that going on, I have been opting for what I call "lazy outfits". Lazy outfits are ones to me, that take little effort besides grabbing the first thing you see in your closet and throwing it on. Oh, and they have to be comfortable or whats the point? This color block shirt I found at Forever 21 on clearance for $3 is a perfect piece for such an outfit. I love that it is loose, comfortable and the colors are easy to pair with neutrals. Jacket is H&M from a few years back, leggings are Target clearance, and shoes believe it or not are from Walmart. I found them on clearance for $4 when I had to run in to get something else one day and they have been surprisingly a super comfortable neutral flat.

Outfit details:
Top: Forever 21-$3
Leggings: Target-$6
Shoes: Walmart-$4
Jacket: H&M: $29.99

Total Cost: $42.99

Hope you all have a great Thursday!

Monochromatic grey

The past week has been a whirlwind for my little family. My daughter has gone from having the chickenpox, to getting a nasty stomach flue and then a cold. Then my husband got it and now my brother in-law who is living with us ended up getting the flue as well. Thank God, I have not picked it up yet. So needless to say, that has been the reason for a lack of posts this last week. I am SO ready for the bugs to be over with!
With all of the sickness, I didn't have the energy to put together patterns and colors in my outfits so, monochromatic has been my thing. It is a simple way to look put together when your definitely not feeling like it and all you want to do is sleep.
This dress was one of my FREE thrift store finds and I love the fit. It is loose, comfy and I know it will be a great summer dress as well.

Outfit Details:

Dress: Thrift-FREE
Jacket: Target(OLD)-$14.99
Tights: Target-$2.99
Shoes: Burlington-$9.99

Outfit total: $27.97

Stay healthy out there and have a great Monday!

Friday Finds

Happy Friday all! I wasn't able to hit up a ton of thrift stores this week but I did stop by a local kids consignment store. I have been on the hunt for some tennis shoes for my girl, now that she is walking but had not been having luck with finding anything. So when I stumbled upon these, I was so excited! Had I bought them brand new, these would retail anywhere from $20 to $35 in my little girls size. I got these for only $7! And they are super good condition. I don't even mind the color, because grey will go with almost anything.

Have you scored any thrift deals recently? I would love to hear about them!

Outfit under $20

It has been in the mid 50's this week where I live and so that means T-shirt weather! I am not the biggest fan of winter so I will take as many of these days as I can get.
This week for my outfit under $20 look, I went with something simple and easy. As a mom of an active little girl, I live for easy outfits that still look put together. A basic tee and some skinny's are a perfect way to pull that off with minimal effort. Also this t-shirt is one of my favorites and it is on sale right now at Old Navy for only $1.97.

Outfit Details:

T-shirt: Old Navy-$1.97
Pants: Forever 21-free (given to me)
Shoes: T.J Maxx-$14.99
Necklace: Walmart-$1.00

Outfit total: $17.96

Hope you have a great Thursday!

Get books, bibles and more for FREE!

Today I am excited to share with you a site where you can get bibles, books, children's books and audio books with minimal effort on your part and no cost to you. Yes, FREE!
My friend over at Bookworm Mama told me about Tyndale Rewards through Tyndale Publishing a little while back and I have gotten many items from them since for free!

This is how it works. You sign up, and once you have an account, there are different ways to earn points. Every bible and book on the site has a points reward value. You can cash out your points earned at anytime you want or save them up. There are multiple ways to earn points like taking a quick survey, join their birthday club and sign up for the Tyndale newsletter to name a few. The best part is that it takes hardly anytime at all to get points and they add up fairly quickly!

Below is just one of the items I got for my daughter and she loves it! She loves book just like her mama so this site has been great in collecting more for her. Why pay the in store prices for books when you can get them free?!

Sign up today here if you are interested in at least learning more about it. I hope you will be able to enjoy this site as much as I have!

Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post. Tyndale is a Christian publishing house so the products you see on there will be religious.

Hope you all have a fantastic Monday!

Friday Finds plus how to save even more at Goodwill

This past week has been a hectic one for me but before my little one got sick I was able to stop by the Goodwill close to my house. Believe it or not there are definitely better days to shop at Goodwill. Being strategic with how and when you shop at thrift stores is key in scoring the best deals.

First thing I do when planning my thrift shopping trips to the Goodwill is check their sales calendar. It can be found  here. They spell out for you every week what color of tag will be 50% off and any other additional sales they might be having.  That is how I found out about the winter sale they were having on the 17th of this month. All blue tagged items in the entire store were only $1.29, pink and green tags were 40% off.

All the items pictured below were only $1.29 each! And some were even brand new with tags on them. I would suggest going in the morning if possible on these type of sale days though because all the seasoned thrifters come out and things can go fast.

Merona Top

Gap Top

Genuine Kids Dress

Merona Top-this had new tags on it

Rugged brand top

Mossimo Top-New with tags

Mossimo Jeans-New with tags

Banana Republic sweater

Loft jeans

So check out the sales calendar for Goodwill and save even more then you next go!

Have a great Friday all!

Thrift top + diy distressed jeans

Over the past few days, my church has been having a conference called the Week of Refreshing. I can not tell you how good every service I have been to is. I am getting wrecked! In a good way. Sometimes it is good to just get your prospective back onto what is important and for me, what God has in store for myself and my family.
This was one of the outfits I wore to an evening service this past week. The top is from a very recent thrift haul where I got everything for $1.29 each! Details of that haul will be coming on Friday. The pants were an old thrift store find, that I updated by distressing. I just cut off the bottom of the pants about an inch up and then used scissors to make cuts in the knee area. Once I made the cuts, I pulled and stretched them to make the distressing look a little more natural. It was easy and something anyone could do if you have a pair of pants you want to give a new look too.

Outfit details:
Pants: Thrift-$3.99
Top: Thrift-$1.29-Merona Brand
Flats: T. J Maxx-$14.99-I purchased these a few years ago.
Necklace: Thrift: $.50

Outfit total: $20.77

Hope you all have a great Wednesday!
